Scar Tissue

Hey ya'll! I'm gonna' ask my gyn something during my pre-op on Monday, but I wanted to run it by you first to see what you think.....
During my first u/s I asked the tech if she would see scar tissue or adhesions because I've had 2 c-sections....She said probably not...
....Well, I have the report from my follow-up u/s (done by a different tech) and it says that she saw "echogenic c-section scar".....Now, why would she be able to see my scar, AND why is it echogenic? (that means there is stuff in there, like my cyst)...Has anyone ever heard of this, or know what that's all about?  X ray, have you ever seen that before? Interesting find and I'm just curious.
Thanks,

The very first think the tech asked me (both times) was did I have a c-section.  I said yes, why?  The techs told me they could see the scar tissue and when I looked at the screen, I could see it too.  Hope this helps.

echoegenic(sp?) i beieve means that the waves from the ultrasound bounce of it producing an image, like when a cust is fluif filled, it looks black, when its complex it has areas of increased echoegenic areas that show up and thats how they know its complex, because that shows the solid materiels.  Your scar tissue would be echoegenic because its like a solid thing, i guess you would say, well not solid but its not liquid, you know what im sayin? I think this is right, someone correct me if im wrong

One more thing, what time is everyone comin' on tonight for the cyber party?? I came to my first one last week, but I got kicked offline and didn't wanna' re-start. Anyway, I'll try to come tonight, but I'm gonna' go lay down right now, I'm sore...My cousin got married today (yay!) and I've been standing for awhile.
See ya later....if I don't make it tonight, I'll catch up with yuns' Monday after my pre-op. Take care,

Sorry, I guess I didnt completely understand the question...I have heard on here many times that your ultasound is only as good as your tech..some see things that others dont maybe...I know when i had my last cyst discovered in the er the tech told me i had a tipped uterus..i have had 2 kids and like 4 6 different untrasounds before that one and i had never heard that...then why i was getting my follow up ultrasound i asked the man doing it if he saw that i had a tipped uterus...he said no, uterus is normal postion all that...so who knows.

Yeah, it probably depends on who does it. And the "tipped" uterus thing....I have always had a retroverted uterus, except for when I was pregnant, because the weight of the baby moves things forward. I have heard that about %10 of women have the condition. All of my u/s reports have shown this to be true for me. It's not a significant finding, but it's there...It means the uterus is tilted toward the back instead of the belly. You may already know that, but I was just offering.
Thank ya'!

Hey girls - just another question about the scar tissue thing - I have had 3 C-sections and a hysterectomy (15 years ago).  I am scheduled for a laparoscopy with possible laparatomy.  I assume I have tons of scar tissue and probably adhesions - does that make it more likely that the gyn. will have to do the full gammit?

Mary - thanks for the info - I guess this is just another "wait and see" - we ladies seem to do a lot of that, don't we?
