I just got back from a transvaginal ultra sound and happened upon this site. I noticed the tech maked a little black round spot a couple of times. in my uterus., I I have not had my pd in 12 months and the am considered menopausal. I had a little bleeding last Thursday ( went to dr immediately) and it was like my pd that I had for my last 2 pds. . I FEEL like I had pms before the bleeding even my face broke out but the doctor says it is not a period. I am a wreck. I am 56. The tech made a comment that my ovaries did not look like those of a menopausal woman. Could I NOT be through with menopause yet? I know I am too old not to be but what the heck is going on?
Sounds like you're on the right path. I'd keep the gyn/onc appointment, and hope they can see you sooner to ease your mind.
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but ignoring your cysts will not make them go away! Remember, you can't care for others if you don't care for yourself first.
Keep a piece of paper with you and when questions occur to you, write them down. That way you'll be prepared when you go back to your dr. I'd ask about having a CA125 blood test, they're not very reliable but the drs usually do them anyway. Also maybe they could check the level of hormones in your blood, you might not be as fully menopausal as you thought.
Good luck, and check in when you know more!
Just because she is a gyn/onc doesn't mean that she only sees cancer patients. She is a specialist in the female reproductive area and she has seen it all. Perhaps given your age and that you are post menopausal is the reason. And also, she may want to see you so that if you have fibroids or ovarian cysts - she can remove them BEFORE it turns into anything serious. Remember early detection is our best defense! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed
