Shari4444-good news

Got a msg from her and she's home, very tired and had a big tummy incision. She said I could share this with you all because she's still tires very quickly but will be back soon. They were able to remove the grapefruit sized (!) tumor along with her uterus, ovaries and all. The best part is that it was not cancer. Pretty amazing and wonderful. She can share the details when she gets back. She appreciates everyone's support and prayers. It really helped her get through this.

Those iron pills must be working, you sound pretty perky tonight. Of course excellent news always helps. Continue to rest up. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Goodnight hugs to you from the Pacific NW.   Irene

I am glad the surgery is behind you. I am especially glad that they only found the "chocolate" tumor and not the other kind!!!!!  Bravo on the bloody surgery! I made a real mess during mine too!  I'm sure you will have a speedy recovery. You don't seem like a person that can be kept down long. I am very happy for you! Marie

Hello All You Fine Ladies,
Yep, it is actually me. Also, may I add, a cancer-free me!!!! (thanks Ireneo for filling everyone in-you're the best!). As Ireneo said, they removed the "chocolate" tumor, uterus, both ovaris, and to top it off my appendix. We had a hard time controling the pain after surgery (we had decided that an epidural was the way to go;unfortunantly, it didn't work). So, ended up on a morphine pump after trying many drugs through the epidural. I actually spent more time in recovery than in surgery!!!!
As promised by the doctor it was a bloody surgery(using blood-thinners before surgery), Much to his surprise, however, my uterus had over-compensated, because of a blood-clot, with four huge arteries which made for a super bloody surgery! Needless to say, I lost a lot of blood (I'll be sucking the iron pills down for awhile).
I still tire easily, but compared to a week ago, right now, I feel like a million bucks. Thanks for all your love and support, everyone!!!! Couldn't have imagined going through this without ya all!!!!
                                     Love and Hugs all around,
                                                 Shari

Great news!  Yes, indeed. So happy to hear this. And as the old saying goes "Size doesn't matter"  I hope her healing goes well and she really gives herself time for it and not to worry about the little things.  This is her time. And also to relish in her fortunate NO CANCER DX. Whenever she has pain, always think about that. Good healing wishes. Helen
