Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?

I had my second child Dec. 2001. I have not been back for my annual exam since then until 2 days ago. During my pelvic exam, when my gynecologist examined my right ovary I came off the table due to the tenderness and pain it caused by a small amount of pressure. He said that he felt it was enlarged and my abdomen was swollen on that side. He sent me for an ultrasound and ran the CA125 blood test. The ultrasound tech said she didnt see anything on my right ovary (which looked like a big black circle to me ) but found a 2cm cyst on my left ovary(looked like a smaller black circle). Why would I hurt so much on my right side? Is that normal? What is the CA125 test and what should I expect? I have constant pain in my ovaries, VERY bloated all the time, and have stopped having intercourse with my husband due to the pain. After the tech called to give my dr the results of the ultrasound, he had me schedule a follow-up for 6 weeks to check it again. Should I be concerned about what my tests will reveal?

I found this website kind of by accident but I am glad that I did.  I read your post and it made me think about myself.  I have been having problems in my ovaries since my 2nd child.  Right after I gave birth, I noticed that the ovary on the left side started hurting.  It got worse and when I would go to the bathroom to have a bowel movement it was all I could do to sit there on the toilet because my ovary would hurt so bad.  I takled with my doctor about it and he said it was probably just an egg.  Said sometimes women have painful ovulations.  Ok this is all news to me because I never heard that before.  After about 3 months it quit.  I never had a problem after that until 2 years ago.  It came back.  I started hurting again.  My husband would playfully pop me on the behind not knowing I was hurting and it would cripple me because the pain would be so bad in my ovaries.  I would also have a clear discharge and would have to wear a pad because my underwear would get soaked like I had dribbled on myself.  I still dreaded having a bowel movement because it seemed like when I did, it put pressure on my ovaries.  The pain usually comes before my period and lasts about 2-3 days.  Or it will come after my period.  One of the two.  It hurts to walk or make sudden movements and there have been times I have called out of work because of the pain.  But after that first day or two I will start having a lot of gas.  It hurts to pass the gas too but eventually it helps things and the pain goes away.  I don't deal with it until the next month,  But I have talked with my doctor about it and several others and all I hear from them is that it's either ovulation or being bloated.  I think there is more going on than that.  I have always been a healthy person, never had anything come back unusual in pap smears and I have been wondering what is going on with me.  My periods have always been heavy and they used to be painful in my younger years but have gotten better now that I am older. There are times that I will bleed excessively to the point I change my pads every 30 minutes.  Is there any help for me???
