Should I have a complete Hysterectomy?

I have been diagnosed with a fibroid cyst on each ovary and a possible fibroid mass in my uterus.  I have had a vaginal ultrasound and a biopsy done.  The biopsy came back as negative for cancer.  My OB/GYN suggested that I have a complete Hysterectomy done as I am 56 a well into menopause.  With a history of non-cancerous cysts removed and a tube removed in my 20's, I tend to believe this is the best decision for me.  If surgery is not done, I will have to monitor the mass and cysts every 3 months.  Do you agree with having a complete removal?

Hi There,
your decision and your doctor's recommendation sounds just fine.
If you are in good health and there is no extra risks to surgery, this intervention sounds reasonable.
best wishes
