You answered many questions on CA125 & I am still confused. What amount of increase constitutes a "trend" for concern? What test takes precedence? My mom is getting mixedMixed respiratory vaccine messages from doctors adding to our concern. Mom is 69 with uterus (only) hysterectomyHysterectomy Hysterectomy - series 30+ years ago for fibroidsFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids--no symptoms following, both ovaries left in tact & functioning, on PremarinPremarin Premarin intravenous Premarin vaginal Premarin with methyltestosterone for 20 years tapered now to 0.3mg 3x wk. (Other meds: Ziac,DynaCircDynacirc cr, Lipitor,Avapro & Tylenol—DynaCirc & Avapro were recent additions. 3 years ago a rt. ovarian cyst was found on gyne exam (no other symptoms) & has regular CA125s & vaginal ultrasounds--first monthly, now annually. Recent ultrasnd revealed “multi-cystic right” ovary with 2 cysts: 4.2x3.4x 3.4cm-debris filled cyst & 0.7x0.3x0.7cm-clear cyst. Until this last time, CA125 was 9, now increased to 39, with a repeat of 47. Is this small amount of increase significant? I realize the CA125 is not meant to be conclusive. The radiologist who just performed the vag ultrasound was not concerned & said she was fine & the cysts had not changed. Her gyne seems scared and is rushing her off to an ovarian oncologist. I think the vag ultrasd is more significant than the slight increases in the CA125. What do you think? Hate to put her through anything unnecessary & know she does not want surgery unless absolutely necessary. What do you think about the CA125 increase and whose opinion/what test is more conclusive? Could Premarin, Ziac, DynaCirc, Lipitor, Avapro, or Tylenol affect CA125? (DynaCirc&Avapro new,Premarin recently tapered). Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
