Thank you for the info on Becky's funeral. I can't believe I am even typing that word but I appreciate that you let us know how lovely it was and about Tyson. It just breaks my heart still. Thank you,
Colleen
I am so appreciative that you wrote about the service. I recall reading that you were going to try to make it to the funeral for Becky...Somehow I feel a little more at ease after reading what you wrote... I still cannot believe she's gone, yet somehow I feel her presence.
Thank you again,
Mary
Hi everyone - Just wanted to let everyone know that Becky's funeral service was beautiful - Becky was so very loved by many, many people. It was very heartwarming to hear her family talk about the members of the med help site and the Battalion - it was obvious that each of you had touched her in so many ways.
I too, would like to contribute to the quilt for Tyson - he is such an adorable little fellow and he handled himself so well today - his Mom would be proud of him.
On the back of the order of service Becky's sister placed a picture of Becky and Deandra and a bit about the Battalion and the medhelp forum - her family continues to spread awareness about ovarian cancer.
I'm in. I'm not a sewer but do OK by hand. I'll give it a try.
The size of the squares do not matter, I can adjust them if needed. I like having different sizes/shapes/colors in the quilt. You can actually go to a fabric store and buy a fabric piece that will go thru your printer and you can copy anything on it. It comes in a package of about 4 pieces. I can put almost anything on quilts. Examples could be, pictures, t-shirts for cancer walks, your favorite saying written out on fabric. If it's fabric, I can use it somehow.
I will be away from my computer for a few days so if I don't respond to your questions, I promise I will as soon as I can.
Heidi
I am devestated to hear of the passing of these two women.
What a lovely idea and to trace Ty's artwork....How beautiful....Let me know size of squares not sure if I can help but would love to do something....Love, Dawnlyn
If need be, and anyone wants to send me a quilt piece I will be happy to add to it and send it on but I know nothing about sewing!!! I think this is an excellent idea though!
I just got back from vacation and have slammed at work this week. I just saw this about Deandra and Becky. I am so saddened by this. Two beautiful women taken at such a young age. I'm so glad that Deandra got to have her dream wedding when she was strong. I'm also glad that Ty is at an age that he can remember his Mom with such love. They are at peace now and I hope that their families can also find peace. I'm not a sewing type of person, but I think what you are doing is really great and I know that Becky's family will love the quilt. I saw the post about Deandra's funeral and I will be wearing purple proudly on Saturday. May God bless you all that are still in this fight!

Anyone who wants to send me a quilt square, please PM me. I am determined to make this quilt!!!! Becky's son Ty, sent me a picture that he drew a couple of months ago and I am goung to trace it on to a square for the quilt. I also want to use a picture of Ty and Becky to put in the center. Put your thinking caps on and lets do this!!!!!
Heidi
I'd be happy to make a few extra rail blocks and send them to people that want to add their own personal touches whether it's adding a flower or pre-embroidered patch or writing a note on the center section. I just need to know if we're going to go ahead and what size squares will be used.
I do not have the slightest idea how to do this but I think it is wonderful that you want to do it and I think if it is possible, it should be done. How beautiful of you to think of it.
Colleen
Count me in, as well. I think Irene's idea would work well. What did you have in mind? I think no matter what design it is, it would turn out great. Perhaps you can set a time limit on when you need the squares, and can re-post a message with that information. You can ask they PM you for an address where they can mail them. There are some pretty creative people here, so you would probably get a nice variety of squares.

Count me in. I think any square with some teal worked in would be great. For people that don't sew that well, a simple rail quilt square (3 strips of material sewn together like a rail fence) would be easy. If the center strip was a plain light material, the donor could write a note to the family or to Becky. What size square would you recommend?
For other people that know how to sew, maybe a different design for variety. Then a sashing to link them all together.
Every loss is hard but this loss is so hard!!! I have been in tears all morning over this horrible news. I can't believe two YOUNG women so BEAUTIFUL and STRONG that have so much to live for and so much to give are gone. They are true inspirations that NEVER will be forgotten. I am glad they are together in heaven. Is it just a coincidence that they passed on the same day.........I think not. I wish I had half the strength they had. Forever missed :(
Peace,
Heidi
I had talked to Becky several weeks ago about making a memory quilt for her and Ty. I would still LOVE to do this to honor her memory. If anyone has ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
