Solid Ovarian Mass

I am a 35-year-old woman with a history of ovarian cysts on my right ovary.  Three years ago, I had a transvaginal sonogram that showed a septated cystic structure which ultimately resolved.  However, I've recently had right lower quadrant pelvic pain.  With transvaginal sonography last week, I was shown to have a 3 cm solid ovarian mass that my doctor described as worrisome and has scheduled surgery.  Are solid masses generally malignant, and is my past history a factor?

My solid mass cyst of 10cm proved not to be malignant. It was removed in September. Thats why I have come here because I dont really understand my results. I hope everything goes well for you.

i EXPIERENCED ABDOMINAL PAIN ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO.  I WAS GIVEN ANTIBIOTICS AND HAD AN PELVIC ULTRASOUND ORDERED.  TODAY I RECEIVED THE RESULTS OF MY ULTRASOUND AND I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE A 5CM COMPLEX MASS WITHIN MY RIGHT OVARY.  I AM REALLY FRIGHTENED THAT IT COULD BE SERIOUS, BUT THE ONLY THING THAT CONFUSES ME, IS IN ABOUT 48 HOURS OF BEING ON THE ANTIBIOTICS, THE PAIN SUBSIDED.  I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO THINK. ANY THOUGHTS??

I HAD MY SURGERY ON OCTOBER 25,2004 FOR THE SOLID OVARIAN MASS
THAT WAS CAUSING A LOT OF ABDOMINAL PAIN.I WAS REALLY SCARED
BEFORE THE SURGERY.BUT I'M OK NOW MY LEFT OVARY WAS REMOVED
AND LOTS OF SCAR TISSUE FROM A TUBAL LIGATION I HAD BACK IN
1991.THE MASS WAS NOT CANCER AND I FEEL GREAT.IT'S ALWAYS
GOOD TO SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE WHEN PAIN IS PRESENT IT DOESN'T
MATTER HOW MINOR THE PAIN,DON'T WAIT UNTIL MIT'S TOO LATE.ALSO
THE SCAR TISSUE WAS CAUSING MOST OF THE PAIN.

i am a 36 year old female  2 months ago i started having pain on  the left side of my abdomen, after 2 weeks of pain i went to
my doctor and he ordered a sonogram + transvaginal.well they found a solid mass on my left ovary which my doctor says its
6 1/2 cm i'm scheduled for surgery october 25th.i'm a little
worried because he said he might need to remove the ovary an i have a friend that had the same problem 8 years ago and she gained a lot of weight, she tells me that the same thing is going
to happen to me. is that normal? or does it depend on the person
and their diet?and also how long is the healing process? my doctor says 6 to 8 weeks.this question is for anyone that can help. thanks

Thanks so much for sharing your experience.  That is extremely comforting to me, because everything I've read about solid ovarian masses sounds so negative.

So sorry about your sister.  God bless.
