Solid mass in ovary went away?I

Is it possible that a 4x4cm solid, complex cyst inside the ovary can go away on its own?  If it ruptured and was cancerous how do you know?  Because if its gone now and doesnt show on the next US but it ruptured and was cancer, then there is no way to even know right?
