Thanks for the info.  This is the kind of information that I find really helpful..the more we educate ourselves the better shot we have.  I've found that it is especially good for when you visit with your doctor to ask about the latest research.

My contribution, though it may have been put on the forum before is a paper entitled

Ovarian Cancer, Chemotherapy, & Antioxidants
http://www.pinestreetfoundation.org/avenues/avenues2324/byoa2324.html

It references several studies using complementary medicines and sounds promising.  For whoever is interested in this kind of thing, it is worth a look and worth talking to your doctor about.

Best wishes to all

complementary  medicine alone will not cure  cancer,  some are good  to help build up the body along with the surgery/chemo approach.  Always ask your Ono about anything to take, to see if it conteracts with the chemo.

If you read the article I sent it did not claim nor did I say that Complementary medicine alone would "cure" cancer.
The article is a summary of medical studies on the use of Complementary medicine (not Alternative medicine, which is used instead of conventional therapy/chemo) that has been used along with conventional chemo treatments.  I just thought that the article was interesting and worth posting.
Complementary medicine is just that, it is to be used along with conventional medicine and many reputable cancer hospitals, such as Sloan-Kettering, and MD Anderson use it.  I agree with you and also said in my posting that you should talk to your doctor about it.  Just like you need to talk your doctors about any other medicines you are (or considering) taking from Vitamine C to any special diets.  For example, I was recently placed on blood thinner, cumadin (coumadin) (sic?)and found out that Spinach and other dark veggies affect this drug.  I had no idea...thought I was doing good adding more broccolli, brussel sprouts and spinach to my diet.  Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that it is good and one especially needs to careful with what they are placing in their body when taking chemo.  So take care and always research and talk to your doctors about ANYTHING you are putting into your body.

Hello Marty!  I've been posting lately but mostly lurk.  I have such admiration for what you give to this forum!  I checked out the PEA-15 and will bring it up to the person in charge of finding trials for his patients at my doctors office.  This is why I love the internet.  I can't imagine how women dealth with ovca or any cancer without the help of you and others that I've met at different discussion boards.  I guess they only relied on what was available through their doctor.   I am always open to new ideas and research!!!!  I have a journal full!  I truly appreciate you finding this for us!!  Thank you, Cindy
