Staining 9 months after TAH/BSO and Borderline diagnosis

I had a TAH/BSO in January 2009.  I had a 10cm tumor in my right ovary which was diagnosed as borderline (APST).  Complete staging was done and I recently had my 6 month check-up.  Everything was fine (CA-125 was 7).

Today I am staining.  A little light blood this morning on the tp.  And I feel very slightly crampy, like I used to before getting my period.  I also had a little burning during the week and some itching.

I'm going to call my doctor on Monday, but does anyone know what this could be?  I had a colonoscopy in April and everything was fine.

Finally got to see my oncologist yesterday.  I haven't had any staining since that morning of October 3.  He did a thorough exam and took a pap, but assured me everything looks normal.  My CA-125 test was 7.

He said there are many reasons why I could have stained (thin vaginal walls, infection or scratch, etc.) and I shouldn't worry.

Easy for him to say :0)) but I am relieved.

Thanks everyone for your assurances.  I did call my doctor but he's out of town until Monday.  I told his nurse, who I know, that it was slight bleeding and only on Saturday.  She wasn't concerned.  She said he will definitely call me Monday, but I shouldn't worry and I should call her if it happens again.

I will let everyone know when I hear from him.

What happened with the doctor?

I had some bleeding about 2 years post op.....they did tests and found that I have developed a tumor/mass/cyst....whatever you want to call it.  It has remained stable for over 2 years now...don't know if this is what caused the bleeding or was just the straw that led to the discovery of the cyst.

Hope you are okay!!!!

All the best,
Pam

My mom had spotting in menopause from vaginal dryness so, slight bleeding is possible from menopause.
I'm glad you're seeing the dr on Monday, if it gets any worse, please go to the hospital though.

Take care
Debbie

As far as I understand, cramping can also result from adhesions, scar tissue caused by the surgery.

Vaginal dryness and thinning vaginal walls are well-known problems following menopause, and it certainly sounds possible that your bleeding is connected with that.

I hope your doctor has some useful and calming information for you.

Sorry to hear you have this new problem.  Obviously, you are already going in on Monday and hopefully it is something that is easily fixed.  The only two things I can think of it being are possibly a surgical clip that slipped (I think that happened to someone on here once) or maybe it is bleeding related to intercourse.  It could be vaginal dryness that was injured with intercourse or vaginal cream and it may cause you to bleed.  I have never had bleeding except for the vaginal dryness thing but have had episodes of camping.  Since you are describing it as spotting I am guessing it is not just a trickle.   I have a persistent lymphocele and my gyn/onc thought the cramping pain may be due to that.  I am not sure if they can causes bleeding but I doubt it.  It could be so many things but hopefully it is benign and easily resolved.  I hope it goes well.
