Stage 3c, 12/2005, 2nd recurrence. Now on Topotecan.

Hi , sorry to hear you are having another recurrence. What where your chemos for your original and 1st recurrence. How long were your remissions? I am on 1st recurrence now.   Donna

Am sorry you are facing more chemo....my aunty is on her 2nd recurrence too and is on doxil/caelyx. It's so tough and I am sending you some positive thoughts.

My first chemos were 6 rounds of carbo/taxol and the second was 7 rounds of carbo/taxol.   First remission was 9 months, second remission was 3 moonths.

I hope you do well this time and get a big remission. A lady at chemo said her remission of 2nd recurrence lasted the longest of any and it was topotecan. I was on gemzar/carbo, reacted to carbo last time, she is now adding cytoxan which i never heard of. I don't look forward to another change. i am on rd.3 . waiting  for pt 2.  donna

I was dx the month before you (Nov 2005) at stage IV. I have been on chemo ever since. I have only had a very short remission (about 6 months) before it all started again. I had chemo first and then surgery. After surgery I was on taxol as a maintenence chemo. Then hsd my first recurrence. I was put on doxil next. After that I went to Gemzar, then topotecan, and finally avastin/abraxane which I am on now. Since my numbers have never been under 100 since after my surgery I would say that i have just been having one long recurrence. I hope that Topotecan will kick this in the butt for you.
