Steroids

by South2009, Nov 02, 2009 02:36PM
Hello,

Has anyone discontinued the use of steroids while getting chemo for ovarian cancer? I haven't had inflammation and doc said I may discontinue, but curious to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Hi, I too discontinued steriods.  I used to take them all the time with carbo and taxol, but then with other treatments, they said I got them by IV and/or I didn't need them.  I took a bottle home because a nurse told me if I got real nauseas and sick I could start taking them again, but it didn't make a difference.  Hope if you try it without, you find you feel better.  I was less constipated.  Take care, Angie

I kind of like the energy boost but there is such a thing as tooooo much!  Slept fitfully  5 hours last night and am edgy (borderline bitchy) til they wear off.  There must be a happy medium!

Thanks ladies. It is always so helpful to hear from others that have experienced some of the same things! I love that I found this board.
