Still In Pain After Laproscopy Surgery?

I am a week post op from laparscopy surgery (removal of ovaries and tubes with adhesions) and still having abdomial pain and just feel like ****.  Am having a really bad time sleeping because of stabbing pain....(everytime I try and turn have a very sharp pain.)Stomace is still very tender to push down on.
When I stand I feel like some one is twisting my insides and have a ach that is hard to explain. Just wanted to know if this is normal since I understood that laparoscopy was a much faster recovery. Am 51 yrs so hoping it's just my age. Thank you for any information.

I had laparoscopic surgery about two years ago, however mine was for removal of my gallbladder.  Everyone told me "what a breeze" it would be, well - guess what?  It was not a breeze!  It took a good two weeks for the pain to subside and remember mine was just a gallbladder removal - you are dealing with a lot more cutting during your surgery.  Also, they inflate a lot of gas into your abdomen during a laparoscopic surgery - so you could be feeling the effects of the lingering gas that didn't get removed.   My guess is that this is pretty normal, but it wouldn't hurt to pick the phone up and call your surgeon just to let him/her know the symptoms you are having.  They may have more suggestions.
