Stunned with Results after Chemo

My gyn onc visit went very well after my last chemo of Taxol and Carbo Nov 17th, 2011.  I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer IIC.  My 6th chem side effects were worse than any other treatment and I stayed in bed off and on for 6 days. My toes felt like I had rubber bands on them and I felt restless.  Had horrible nightmares and woke up frightened.  Then after the 7th day, I wake up feeling refreshed.  That is the day I went to see my doctor and he said that there is no sign of cancer after the CT Scan and my CA125 was 000.1!   Praise God!  My doc said he never had a patient with that score during chemo.  They retested and I was still having low results.  All I can say is I don't look at the numbers, I don't worry, I don't listen to bad stories or outcomes and lean on the Lord for my strength.  Lean on the possitive side with all those who have cancer and those who are giving you support.  If you get wound up with whys and what its it will stress you out.  My dear friend told me to pace myself like a turtle and that has been the best advice I've found.  Pace yourself when you feel good and when you feel bad.  Take mega vitamins, eat, rest, drink water, walk when you can and be merry!
I believe from all the survivors that I know it is your attitude for your healing that plays a great part in recovery.  If you stress it isn't going to do you any good.  I was stunned with the results this past Thursday and feel unworthy sometimes because I have other chemo friends that aren't fairing so well.  But all I can say is we must live our lives with thankfulness and take it one day at a time.  Happy Thanksgiving to you all.    Keep the Lord near you.  He will get you through when the times get tough.  Believe me, they get tough but know you are never alone.  :)

I know exactly what you mean.  Praise God.  I was diagnosed with Stage 1c in August 2011 and after 2 high doses of chemo my ca 125 number is a 6. Looking forward to my next ca 125 test on Dec 8.  I hope everything continues to go well for you!
