Subcentimeter follicles

Subcentimeter follicles

I undergone ultrasound and the result is numerous subcentimeter follicles are noted at the right and left ovaries. Is it dangerous? Is there any cure? What is the causes of that?

Without knowing more, I would consider this as likely to be normal.   Your doctor can provide further information.

Follicles on the ovarys are the beginnings of new 'eggs'.   This development is caused by the FSH - the follicle stimulating hormone.  Normally, only one egg will continue to develop and be released from the ovary.  In the cases of multiple births, more than one egg developed and was later fertilized.
