Surgery next Thrusday.

by fungirl1011, Feb 19, 2009 03:43PM
First off, I want to say PLEASE Medhlep, do not delet this or move it.  I want to keep my friends informed on what is going on with me.

It looks like I am facing yet another surgery.  I have had problems with my gallbladder for the last 3 years, buy we all (doctors) decided that the ovary/cyst issues need to come first.  Everything has been going pretty well with my gallbladder issures until this past week.  I had 3 gallbladder attacks in one week.  It was horrible!!!!  I saw the surgeon today and he said it needs to come out and the sooner the better.  He is going to try to do it laproscopicly (sp) but I have a 1 in 20 chance that he will have to stop and cut me open.  He said that with all of the surgeries I have had scar tissue could be a problem.  If I have it laproscopically I will get to come home that day, if not I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days.  I feel like such a burden to my family.  I'm sure they are getting sick of me having surgery all the time.  I know I can't help it, but I still feel bad.  Anywhoo.. I just want to let you all know what is going on.  Love, Kasie

So sorry to hear Kasie.  Is there any way the two surgeons could coordinate and go in together so you are only being cut and going under once?  My Mom's surgeons were willing to do that when she needed two different surgeries.

I am sorry to hear you have to have MORE surgery and this soon after the last one. Take care of yourself and rest as much as you can to prepare your body for the next invasion by the surgeons. Daggumit!

Why did you think MedHelp would remove your post? That's odd.

Sorry to hear about your cranky gall bladder. I've had trouble with mine in the past and yes, it really hurts and can make you so sick. It will be good to be rid of it. I like the idea of having just one surgery but the doctors don't always work it out that way, especially if they're different specialists.

Isn't a post only moved when someone reports it as miscategorized?

Sorry to hear about another surgery.  Scar tissue can be a problem.  Good luck and keep your chin up ... no more gall bladder problems after this.  I know we feel like we are burdens to our family, but that's just us .. I am sure they will be there for you 100%..

God bless you .. Judy

Hey, Kassie, knock this ******** off !  Feeling guilty because you need surgery.....that is close to stupid !  Anyone who thinks you are doing this for attention needs to have their brains checked at the door !  You have been through way too much to be worrying about such foolish people and issues.
You hang in there girl and take care of you........quit worrying about what others think......that is their problem......you are responsible for you.  Keep us posted when you are able.
Peace.

Kasie,
Your family loves you and I am sure that they just want you to feel better soon too!! Don't feel guilty at all. You wouldn't want one of them to feel guilty if they were in this situation.  Good luck on the surgery. My sister recently had it and she was doing pretty darn good in a matter of days. Many hugs for you! Colleen

I am so sorry you have to have another surgery, but I think I would check to see if you could get both ovarian cyst and gallbladder done at same time.  I will be thinking of you.

Love,
Dawnlyn

Sorry to hear this kiddo. I had my gallbladder out and it was not fun.  I can see why they wouldn't want to do both surgeries at once. Recovery from gallbladder surgery is pretty rough unless they do laser surgery. I think doing them one at a time will be easier on you.

I am sure your family does not see you as a burden of any kind and I know they must be terribly concerned for you.

I will pray that all goes really well with your surgery next week & that you don't have anymore painful attacks. .
Love,
Jan

Hi Kasie,
I'm sorry you will need to have surgery again.  I truly hope that this will be the last and you can get back to feeling better.  I'm sure your family would never think of you as a burden.
Take care,
L

Hey Kasie...
Sorry to hear about your gallbladder...I heard those attacks can be very painful. That's really unfortunate that they can't co-ordinate the surgeries so you only have to be under once. I wish sometimes doctor's would actually want to make our lives easier instead of making their lives easier.
Good luck...I hope they can just scope it and not have to open you up.
Love Becky

Just worry about you now...I know as mothers and wives we always put ourselves last...Dont suffer any longer..I had my gallbladder out the same time I had the hysterectomy...my gallbladder was so diseased. You are having so many attacks ....why suffer...good luck and I hope you have an easy surgery and speedy recovery....Gia xoxo

Kasie,

I too had my gall bladder taken out like my sister Jan in 1998. My attacks were horrible, but I'm glad I did it.  I was getting to know the emergency room people on a first name basis.  It was full of stones and nasty, but my doctor did it laproscopically.  A couple of tiny cuts and I was out of the hopsital the next day.  A few days for recovery and I was good as new.  I agree with the rest, get both done at the same time if you can and get it over with.  The sooner its done, the sooner you get back on your feet.  Your family loves you and you are probably more worried about them then you need to be.  Let them take care of you.

Thanks everyone for such encouragement.  I am a nervous wreck.  You would think that I have had enough surgeries that it would be an old hat, but I am still nervous.  I just keep thinking...What if something goes wrong?  Is this a normal feeling?  I'm sure I will be fine on the day of surgery.  Again, I just wanted to say thanks.  I will let you all know how it goes.  Love, Kasie

Kasie,
I think it is normal to wonder if something will go wrong? I usually do!  But then I say the Lord's Prayer as I am being wheeled there and then they knock me out and all is well! I am sure you will do just great! I will keep you in my prayers and please let us know! Hugs, Colleen

You will feel so much better without that stinking gall bladder.  Let's hope for the laproscopic route, it is much easier on the body.

  Kasie,
Sorry to hear about the gall bladder. I also hope that you will be able to have the surgery without them having to make an incision. It is so much easier on you.
It is perfectly understandable that you are worried about it, as I don't think anyone can ever get used to having surgery, of any kind. But hey, don't worry about your family as i am sure they would much rather have you feeling good with no problems.
I will keep you in my prayers tomorrow. I know that you will just whizz right through it and be up and around in no time.
   Love Chris
