Surgery w/spinal

Hello ladies.  Hope everyone is well and those that have had recent surgery or chemo--hugs and kisses and get well soon.  Well, surgery is scheduled for this Monday morning--a little nervous since I have never had spinal anesthesia but excited to have the process moving so quickly.  I will be having the bikini cut--not too excited about that, but it's the only way.  Again, thank you all for your kind and uplifting words.

Thanks everyone for your replies.  I do feel very informed about the process and just believe God that everything will turn out ok.  To fiddler5000, hope your surgery goes well and have a speedy recovery.

Good luck with the Monday morning surgery!
Keep your thoughts positive and it'll be fine.
Mine's on Wednesday -- this is all what I keep telling myself.
Plus I've been doing lots of reading about the recovery process so I feel informed and active in my process.
Best wishes!

Just to let you know that I have had a spinal anesthesia and its fine. However Some people - including myself - did suffer from backache for some time after. I found it difficult to bend over and wash my hair or walk long distances.

I had an unexpected spinal for an emergency c-section 18 months ago.  I also had some odd sensations for a few months, but it was really relatively easy.  I had the bikini cut, no sign of incision now, really.  Too bad I'll likely be cut open again . . sigh.
I wouldn't worry about the spinal, just lean forward, and let them pop it in there.  :)
