Symptoms have me worried about Ovarian Ca

I'm 28 yrs old, being followed for poly cystic ovarian syndrome.

But for the past 2 yrs or so, I've been having an increase in symptoms that I only recently realized fit w/ovarian cancer.

W/O infection, my frequency of urination has increased dramatically and continues to increase. Sometimes I go every 1 to 2 hours and I don't drink a lot. I've had tons of problems with my digestive tract. Terrible constipation, diarhea, cramps, gas, bloating and recently... in particular, my stomach seems to be bloated. My mother even told me my stomach was "sticking out" over the weekend. I don't think I've gained weight. Everything else on my body is normal.

The only thing I've talked to my internist about (once or twice) is the urination... because, to me, that always feels "wrong". She never seemed too concerned, however. I haven't mentioned the intestinal troubles (I get embarassed) but it's recently gotten truly terrible. I did have her palpate my abdomen once because an odd feeling I had there.

I got really scared when I saw how much the ovarian ca symptoms fit w/mine (though, I realize they are "vague").

My question, is how worried should I be? I get followed annually w/a pelvic US for the poly cystic ovarian disease. They would note an ovarian tumor at that time, right? Am I crazy to be scared about this?

Sorry for typos & spelling... I'm typing on the sly from work.

Appreciate any advise you could give me.

When was the last time you had an ultrasound? Might be a good idea to get another just to see what's going on. The symptoms you describe go along with cysts, which are 99% benign or fibroids too. I'm sure some of the other great ladies on here will be along to give your more info and advice. I know how scary it all is...you will get great support on here!
Take care!

Welcome to the site!  You could have a rather large ovarian cyst, since you do suffer from pcos.  Has your dr. ordered a transvag ultrasound?  If not, you really do need to get one.  Just remember that 99% of ovarian cysts, tumors, or masses are BENIGN!!  An ovarian cyst can cause all of the symptoms you are having.  If your dr. will not order the ultra sound, get a 2nd opinion!!!  You really need to find out what is going on in there.   You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Hi there...I would recommend you get a second opinion from a gyn/oncologist...his specialty is with abnormalities in the female reproductive system.....he will recognize your symptoms and the physical findings.  Since this is all he does, he will be more likely to recognize what is going on with you.
In the event of any surgery, this is the person you want to do it. But...still remember, 99% of all tumors are benign...don't lose sight of that....it is true and it is good news.
Peace be with you.

I just wanted to say that most of the women on this site have the same symptoms. If you scroll thru the posts you will see how common they are with all the diff types of cysts.(Mostly benign) I was also concerned about the urination problem as I was going every 30-45 minutes when I started keeping track. This was second to my back and hip pain. My gp ruled out uti and kidney infections before sending me to the gyn. Long story short as I am now on my fourth doctor. Try and get a transvaginal us done. I also went to my gi doctor to rule out any gi problems (as the symptoms seem to mimic) before pushing the issue of finding a doctor to finally help me. Don't hesitate to tell the doctors everything they have heard it all before so try not to be embarrassed. I know it's hard but don't put if off as the pain only gets worse over time. Don't let the doctors give you the run around. Take Care!
Hugs,
Darlyn

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't having PCOS actually DECREASE a woman's chances of developing ovarian cancer?  I had a fairly large tumor on my right ovary that caused all the symptoms listed, and it was benign.
