Symptoms of Terminal Ovarian Cancer

My sis ter-in-law was diagnosed with stage 3C OVCA one year ago.  She is apparently platinum resistant as she completed a clinical trial and her cancer is still growing.  Recent CA125 was over 2,500.  She has intestinal obstruction and receives IV nutrition every night.  She tried Gemcitabine and bled profusely with all blood counts decreased.  Now she is very swollen and at times confused.  Cannot get straight answers from the Dr about what to expect next.  She does not want any further treatment until after the holidays.  We think she will not live much longer.  Am trying to find someone to tell us what the symptoms of terminal OVCA are?  She is very swollen, has abdominal cramping and pain, and the ascities to getting worse day by day.  She wants to believe that she will live another year or more and we cannot get her to make final plans and arrangements for her young child.  Can anyone help?

Thanks for the prompt response.  Life gets more difficult every day as she struggles to maintain control in the face of her confusion. She is living with us so we can manage her hyperal.  In addition to everything else, she is having to move out of her home where she has been for the last 8 years.  (Landlord is selling it.)  she is fighting us every step of the way in terms of guardianship...one day she wants us to have it, the next day she wants her 78 year old mother to have it.  She is irrational in her beliefs and understanding of her disease process.  she seems to have more pain every day, especially abdominal cramping.  Currently on 400mcg duragesic patches, with Roxonal for break through pain.  Everything regarding legal matters, she puts on hold and refuses to really deal with.  She has denied the severity of her illness all along and continues to do so.  The strain of all of this is causing problems for the rest of my family as well.  Wish I could understand better what the course of her illness will be so that I can be better prepared.

hello , im 17 years old and recentlyy ive been panicing thinking i have cancerr all overr me and i get stomack pains, head aces, excess hair , tiredness , sickness,ear ace, neck pain, lump in the back of my troat and i get pains in my heartt and my left foot and ive been to the doctors and said about a feww buh they just seem to blame it on another illness buh i seem to of convisted myself its somethings serious and i dont know wwhat to do or how to handle the situation can you help ?

You must make another appointment with your doctor, or another doctor and discuss your symptoms with a doctor.

It sounds to me you are suffering with some sort of health anxiety disorder. Meaning you are safe but your mind thinks you have every nasty desease possible. Don't worry help is at hand. Go back to your doctor and ask him for help. Say you are worrying over all health conditions.
