THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME NEWS!

  First, before I go any further, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your sympathy and condolences regarding my loss of Sierra. The tears streamed down my face as I read your letters. I do not know what I would do without all of you. Thank you.

Now, I recieved a call from the American Cancer Society today. The longer I talked to the woman that called, the more excited she became. She thinks that our summer get together plan is absolutely great. Even more so when she found out that we were an online support group and were all planning on meeting for the very first time. I asked her about possibly finding us lodging at a good discount group rate and she said most definately. I also asked about suggestions of things to do or sponsering some thing like a Look Good Feel Better session for us all (thanks for the suggestion Jan) and again her reply was most definately. Then I questioned her about possibly some kind of nmedai coverage and explained what we have been wanting to do about heightening public awareness and education about ov ca, and she thought that was a great idea. She is going to have some people contact me, one of them being their media relations department because she said they would love to hear our story.
  Here is the real kicker: and she thought this was "way too cool". Most of you know that Olney is a small town. She was calling me from the Champaign IL office and she said that she coordinates the relay for life in Olney every  year, and the media here has always been great. She has a very close friend that works in the Springfield office of the ACS and get this, she used to live in Olney. This lady was very exicited about the "close connection'. She is going to contact several people and have them contact me and said they would all keep in touch with me until the event so that we could make this as special as we are wanting it to be.
Her call could not have come at a better time. Maybe this will help me to not sit around crying all night.
So we will wait and see what happens next, and I will let you know as soon as I hear something.

Hi Chris, I do not know your story, but I am sorry for the loss that you had.  I saw that you are in the Olney area and was wondering where.  I grew up in Effingham, Illinois and now I am in Crawfordsville, Indiana.  It sounds like God provided you with what you need to get through your loss.  Sounds like the get together is going to be a really good time.  Again, I am sorry for your loss.
