I am sure that your doctor is competent...in something. As for the pain - YES, a cyst can cause that type of pain. Been there, done that. The pain is caused first by the rupture of the cyst; then, the site where the cyst was located on the ovary is more or less a "wound", much like a cut or scrape. Simply moving around causes other tissues and organs to touch the site, causing pain. Thus the intermittent nature of the pain associated with a cyst as it resolves! Also, the fluid itself can cause discomfort to tissue affected by its presence.
It appears that you have a long term pain situation, and you might be helped by getting a second opinion, or perhaps by having an appointment with a pain management specialist.
PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION, I NO LONGER TRUST HALF OF WHAT THE DOCTORS SAY ANYMORE. THEY TRY TO BRUSH TO MANY THINGS OFF. AFTER ALL THIER NOT THE ONES IN PAIN YOU ARE. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
Agreed! Get a 2nd opinion. You suffered the pain of a ruptured cyst and believe me, I know it hurts. You need to see another dr, as you are not getting the care that you deserve. Kick him to the curb!

I am sorry to hear about your battle :( I never realised how many women suffer from this stuff. My battle started last year and I am still being referred to another gyn. I guess the one thing that I have learned is not to panic.
