Thickening of the Endometrium

I was recently told that I need a D&C because I have a 9 week endometrium.  My endometrium is very thick and I am post-menopausal.  I have not taken any hormone replacement.  Does this mean I have cancer?

cancer is a diagnosis that is made from obtaining tissues and looking at it microscopically.
there are many conditions that can cause a thickening in the lining of the uterus: fibroids, polyps, benign growths, malignant growths.

sounds like you are getting great care. The next step is obtaining tissue by a dilation and curettage (D&C)
the risk of malignant is dependent on many factors, age, family history, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and a high estrogen state.
