This site may have saved my life.......

Dramatic title to my post, huh? But it is the truth. I learned on this site about platinum resistance. When my onc told me that my cancer had recurred, I was only 3 months out from finishing my initial 6 rounds of carbo/taxol. He told me that I was terminal, but wanted to treat me with carbo/gemzar. I felt that this combo would not help me, only make me sick. (I really suffered during the carbo/taxol.) He was only trying to make me comfortable and extend my life as much as possible.

I chose to get a 2nd opinion at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL. They agreed that the carbo/gemzar was wrong for me. They put me on Doxil with a good chance of total remission.

If it weren't for you ladies sharing your knowledge and experience, I would have accepted my onc's diagnosis and would be preparing to die.

I love your name Rebel Spirit. Keep it up! I'm so glad you like Cancer Centers of America. Who knows I may go there sometime. But I like where I am now. I live in Long Island, NY.

By the way what supplements did they put you on?

Go CCA ... DH sees Dr Ben Chue at Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center (in Seattle), in fact it was Dr Chue who was the one oncologist to "bless" our alternative treatment plan for his bladder cancer. They are great.
