Sorry to keep bugging, but at what point should classification of low-grade fever be made?  I've done lots of research and many sites say anything over 98.6F, but can that information really be trusted.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I was told by my dr. anything under 101 degrees, but 99.9999999 sounds good too :-)

I was also told anything 101 or lower.  Don't be concerned about a low grade fever though.  Fever is the way your body deals with illness and it is meant to help.  Drink plently of water if it last for several days call your doctor.

Hi, Nic - I'm dealing with a low-grade fever, too, and have been ever since I was released from the hospital.  Mine probably has to do with the UTI and thrush I developed after surgery (joy).  Anyway, I see on my post-op checklist that my hospital defined "low-grade fever" - that is, fever warranting medical attention - as 100.4+.  Still, experience tells me that it's a good idea to seek medical attention for any fever, especially after surgery and especially if accompanied by other symptoms, just to err on the side of caution.
I hope with all of my heart that you're feeling better soon.

My doctor said to call her if my temperature reaches 100.4 or above.  It seems like the general consensus is anything form 100-101.  Hope this helps. Kasie
