Transvaginal Ultrasound

ckr
Some women are talking about drinking water prior to this test.  No one gave me any instructions for the one that is scheduled for tomorrow.

I have had a hysterectomy (no cancer) only ovaries remain.  Is it necessary for me to have a full bladder.  If so, how much water and when should it be drunk?

I just had my ultrasound a couple weeks ago. They wanted me to drink 32 ounces of water that morning (my appt. was at 11 am) and to have it down by 9 am, 2 hours before the appt. When I got there they did an external ultrasound (jelly on the belly), had me empty my bladder after that, then came the wacky wand. I suppose if the bladder isn't full enough they'll have you drink water and wait a bit. Sure would throw off their schedule though.
