Treatment for Stage 3b Ovarian Cancer

My mother was just diagnosed with stage 3b ovarian cancer.  She has had 2 heart attacks, congestive heart failure and is diabetic.  Her cardiologist believes that she is very high risk for surgery which may kill her.  What treatments should she consider if surgery is not an option?  What is her outlook/life expectancy?

I agree with the others. Find a good gyn/onc and maybe go from there. As still fighting said, we are not Dr's but outside of surgery, the only other real option would be chemo. But then all of this would be up to your mom. A good gyn/onc can explain it all to her and then she can make up her mind what if anything that she wants to do.
I wish her the best.

How did they stage her as 3b without the surgery? I agree with the suggestion to contact a good gyn/onc and go from there.  I wish you the best for your mom.  Marie

I totally agree with Still Fighting! I hope you are in contact with Gyn/ONC. Your Mom should call the shots here as long as she is able. Hope this helps, so sorry for the situation!

were not Dr's so we can't give you that information, but if I were in your shoes. I'd take my mom where ever she wanted to go and do what ever it was she wanted to do.

I'm sorry for this. How old is your mom?
