Tugging pinching pain on left lower pelvis

Hi everyone.  I am new to this site but found it by googling the internet.  This is driving me nuts and I am hoping some of you can share your wisdom.

I am 39 and have two daughters, 6 and 11.

I had a Novasure procedure (hystoscopy/d&c/uterine abation) back in March with no problems but have not had a period since that time.  (I had the ablation for heavy periods.)  For the past month or so I have been having lower back pain and a pinching/twisting or a brief sharp stabbing pain on the lower left hand side of my pelvic region.  Some days I just feel it when I stand after sitting or stretch or lift something heavy.  I have sinus problems but often in the morning I feel a little nauseous until I have something to eat.  I went to see the physician's ass't two weeks ago due to back pain and what I thought was the onset of a urinary tract infection (obgyn on maternity leave) and she told me it wasn't a kidney infection because my urine stick was clean and the pain in the back was lower than it would be with a kidney infection. They did a urine culture and that also came back clean. She then sent me on my way without trying to find anything else.  I have an appointment with a new dr in a few days plus I have an appt with the obgyn in two weeks when she returns from maternity leave.  I did have my pap in February and that was fine.  I have occasional bloating and have gained 17 pounds in the past year and a half but my weight has stayed steady since then.  About two years ago I had what they thought was a kidney stone and they had me do the transvaginal ultrasound which found a cyst on my ovary but no stone.  When I went back for another ultrasound, they said the cyst had gone away.  I keep thinking that my obgyn would have seen something during my surgery in March if there was a problem and that this pinching/twisting/stabbing pain has only really started up since then.  However, my dad died from cancer and my mom has had breast cancer so the idea of cancer scares me to no end.

I live in Arizona so it's really hot this time of year but I have been extremely tired during the day which is odd for me.

Anyone have any similar experiences or wisdom that they can pass on?

I am going to request that they run a CA125 test on me.

Thanks so much.

wiith a hystoscope the surgeon only veiws the inside of the uterus, right?   You might repeat the TVS/MRI   no temperture?  with an abalation you need to see the inside of that uterus again.  sounds to me like something indeed is going on that you need to find out about.

When I went to the physician ass't on 6/14, I was running a temp of 99 but that was all.  My normal temp is generally about 97.8 instead of the standard 98.6.  I I forgot to note that I have felt a similar twinge on the right lower pelvic side as well but it is mostly contained to the left side.

When I had the cyst two years ago, I had no pain from it -- frankly the kidney stone was so painful, I'm not sure I would have noticed anything else.

I am really hoping that this is just an ovarian cyst that maybe has become twisted or something.  We are leaving for a family vacation on the 1st and I am trying to put this in the back of my mind until we return but am having little luck doing that.

In addition to lower back pain, I am having neck and shoulder pain as well for the past two days.

I feel like I am falling apart or obsessing.

I'm going to push for the transvaginal ultrasound, the CA125 and whatever else tests I need.  I'd rather overdo than underdo at this point.

My best friend was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia about 6 months back.  Doctors told her over and over that she was fine but she perservered because she knew something was wrong and listened to that little voice in her head.  Luckily there is a new drug out there (Gleevec) and she is in complete remission.  That little voice in my head is screaming at me right now.

Keep up the appointments until this pain goes away. If your inner self says to keep trying, then you must do that. The lower back and then shoulder sounds like kidney to me. I am not a doctor so go to all. I know not everyone can have cat scans but they show a lot.

Never give up.

Best of luck

Thanks for the replies -- I haven't had a full-blown physical for a while so I am going to push for the tests that I need, whether it be CAT, trans-ultrasound, etc.    At least I get to see the new doctor before I leave for vacation.  I am also keeping the obgyn appt for when I get back.
