Deandra's mom called a little while ago and she is doing okay, but she got some news she was not expecting.  They are all making like this is a good thing, but we all know what Deandra is thinking.  They usually don't do second look surgeries anymore cause they aren't reliable or something so with having the colostomy reversal they took a look see and there are still some signs of cancer in the biopsies.  She will have to have about 3 more IP treatments.  Her mom said it was a good thing they found it like they did, but you all know that Deandra was expecting that she had kicked OVCA's A&&.
Her boyfriend and her have planned a trip to Hawaii in early March and her mom said she hopes they can go on the trip and than come back and do the chemo. Oh, she has to wait a month or so to heal from this surgery so she may as well wait it out in Hawaii.  I hope it doesn't spoill her trip.  This was supposed to be a celebration of endig cancer/chemo.

That's all I know for now except Deandra must get her ways from her mom.  Norma was crying when we got off of the phone after I told her I was back in here.  She said it's a shame we aren't in adjoining rooms so they could jump back and forth and visit.  Norma, is as tender hearted as Deandra.  Poor woman,  you can hear the stress in her voice although you can tell she is trying to hold it together.  Sometimes it is the little things that push you over the top.

I am so sorry Jan to hear that you are back in the hospital..I wish you well and hope you are staying positive and strong!! You are a fighter! I am so upset to hear about Deandra..I know how much she was looking forward to a clean bill of health!!! I am so sick over this!! I am glad that they found it now but I know how she was not really expecting that kind of news..She is so looking forward to her trip to hawaii and I hope she can still go. So sorry about Deandra and you too Jan. All this news is getting to me. Three more of our girls have not had great news this week, I would post but  they may not want me to.  I read on a cancer website that people did better with chemo in the spring and summer,and I am beginning to think its true. In the meantime sunshine and flowers to everyone. May God Bless       Donna

Poor Deandra...I feel awful for her. It's like reaching the top of a tall mountain only to find out there was more hiding under the clouds. I know she'll finish this treatment and kick this cancer where it belongs...I'm so happy she's going to Hawaii! Just what the doctor ordered...I hope we hear from her soon.

I am just floored with this news about Deandra, to be so up and then fall back is so hard to take. God guided this surgery to find those hot spots and He will be there to help her get them taken care of. Am I angry, yes I am, so many beautiful women hurting  because of this damn disease.  Just think about this girls, if you were men and had prostrates, you could be cured tomorrow.  Lets make ovaries as important as them, both are about the same shape.   lol

Hi there.  Jan, thanks for the update on Deandra.  Sorry to hear that news.  I DO hope she can continue with her plans for Hawaii although it won't be the celebration she'd hoped for.  Was the colostomy reversal successful?  Maybe they won't know that for a while?  

Sorry, too, to hear you were back at the hospital.  Stay hydrated!

I am sorry if I was not clear but yes, her surgery was completely successful.  They don't have to wait and see.  They had to "wake" everything up, but the plumbing is working the way it is supposed to.  I have not had the energy to call Norma and get an update but I will when I get up from this nap.   (Been taking little ones all day)   I know Deandra can't wait to get back and talking with all of you.  

PS Thanks for all of your well wishes.  I am so glad I live in this neighborhood.  I just could not ask for better neighbors than you all!
