Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers Act introduced in the House of Representatives

Take Action on the House Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers Act of 2007 Take Action!

The House has introduced the Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers Research Act of 2007. This bill will authorize the National Cancer Institute to make grants to public and nonprofit entities to establish research centers of excellence devoted to the discovery of ovarian cancer biomarkers.
This research to discover biomarkers has the potential to lead to the development of an early detection test, or help target treatments for ovarian cancer patients.

Ovarian cancer has no effective screening test. This bill will help the federal government increase its focus on ovarian cancer, the deadliest gynecologic cancer.

I know you will join me in celebrating the introduction of this bill, and working towards its passage.

Our first step is to get co-sponsors for House bill. You will receive another e-mail in the near future regarding the Senate bill, once it is introduced. When the bill becomes law, we will have to work to get the funds appropriated through the Congressional budget next year. Please customize the action alert attached, and send it to at least five people in your network.
