Understanding CT Scan

I had a spiral CT scan done for kidney stones.  My doctor called and said that I need to take the films to my OB/GYN.  I have a copy of the report and it reads "The uterus shows a high density mass in the region of the fundus projecting into the endometrial canal.  This measures up to 2.5 cm in size.  It is unclear if this represents a fibroid protuding into the endometrium or a mass arising primarily in the endometrium."  What exactly does this mean?  Should I be worried?

Thank you!!  I have an appointment with my GYN in two weeks.  At least I know what tests he should order - and if not I know what I should ask to be done.  Again, thank you - this site is wonderful!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
it may be a polyp or a fibroid. the best next step to discuss with your doctor is to schedule a D&C (dilation and curettage) and hysteroscopy.
best wishes
