Update from Daughter of 61 Mom no surgery

I posted last week regarding the No Surgery for OC and I wanted everyone to know that I really appreciated all your helpful and hopeful responses.  While you may not have known it, all of you walked beside me in my heart as I was with my Mom during her stay in the hospital.  I am so happy to report that after 5 days in the hospital and her treatment this morning of chemo...she is coming home TODAY!!!!  She will have 2 more treatments and then with great hope, we will see shrinking and proceed with her surgery.  Thank you all for your amazing hearts!!!!!

It is wonderful she has you with her. Some of us have nausea and weakness the few days aftet chemo. I get aloxi before my chemo in an iv, also take emend and phenergan by mouth for 3 days. Some ladies take zofrin i.v. or tablet, and or decadron. My day after chemo and the next day are worse for me. If she has problems they can give her something different. Be sure she gets plenty of fluids, water, juice if not too acidic, my dr. o.k.d gatorade( I like the lite blue frost if nauseated, maybe a lite decaff tea , etc.. . ....best wishes   Donna,

I am gald that your mom is getting to come home. Donna gave you some good advice as to how to help her handle the side effects of the chemo. Hopefully she will be one of the lucky ones that it does not affect to bad. Know that you are in my prayers that the chemo will shrink the tumors enough to be removed. Oh and don't panic if they should decide to add a couple of extra cycles of the chemo before surgery. Sometimes they will do that to get rid of as many as they can and to shrink the remaining ones as small as possible. I had 8 rounds before my surgery. The best of luck to you and your mom.
