Update on Leslee

I really don't know what to say right now but the cancer has traveled from the outside of the bladder to the inside and there is asites now up pushing on the lungs and  quite a few lymph nodes that are swollen around the lungs.  she is still in the hospital and they are keeping the pain down with IV drugs, as soon as she can travel they will go back to Mayo, She says now that they tell her that most chemo would be too rough for her and that if she does not take it they can give her "quality  of life"   I think she might decide to have the bladder removed or treated, this has to be a very fast moving cancer now.  her brothers went up to see her tonight and she perked up quite a bit according to them.  she talks about returning to work.  How she can I don't know, but it keeps her mind occupied.  I am really down right now,  I need some good news for her.

I was hoping for good news  for Leslee...I am sorry that this is happening. Please know that I will pray for all of you right now..I am hoping also that she is comfortable and not suffering in pain...It is great that she talks about returning to work..she needs to keep a positve outlook and that is good for her..There have been some wonderful surprises on this forum even after negative news was given..so keep the hope!! I am so sorry to hear this. If Leslee does not decide to have her bladder out, I have a relative that had chemo for the bladder that was not systemic but where it was put into her bladder and she then held in there for about an hour or so where she had to move around to make sure that the bladder was completely coated, then it was realeased out of the bladder. So far it has worked well for her, not sure if this could possibly be an option for Leslee.

Not really sure what to say here Marty...I admire Leslee's "never give up" attitude - I know that's what will get her through this rough patch. I really do believe that's all this is - a rough patch that will get better in time. She just has to ride out the storm...
I know this must have knocked the wind out of your sails but I do hope that you can dig deep and find it in yourself to believe, like Leslee does, that things will be ok.
