Update on mum....... and Femara.

Mum went back to the Dr about her swelling ankles and the constant ache in her legs and feet. They have done some blood tests which have come back normal, so they are sending her for a bone density scan as they think the Femara could be causing osteoporosis. My nan (mums mum) has had it for years so they think mum might have the genes for  it which the Femara is just accelerating.

But, she can't have a bone scan for several weeks as they have run out of radioactive material for it!!!!!!!!!

I was on Femara and the bone pain was horrible.  they wasn't any osteoporous  Femara causes swelling and bone pain  I switch to Arimidex after being off Femara for 2 weeks and am not having the pain.  Please look in to Femara side effects and possible changeing to another drug.  I even was in physical therapy for two months because I thought it was me  but no it was the drug.. Arimidex is in the same family but not the same side effects   good luck   ps  i don't think she has oster  i think it is the drug

I was just thinking about you and your mom the other day. I'm so sorry she is experiencing so much discomfort. I will be praying that they find out what is causing her so much pain and that they will be able to treat it. With love, Deandra

I hate to tell you but I am on Arimidex and I have joint pain in my hips and knees and my fingers are stiff and swollen -- It started two weeks after I started the Arimidex --- It may be gentler than Femara but for me it hasn't been a walk in the part either -- Sorry your mom is feeling so poorly -- I hope they help her quickly -- maybe she should be taking Calcium with Vitamin D in the meantime
