Very high CA125 count

My mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last September and had a CA125 count of about 1500. After her chemo it dropped all the way to 22 - the doctorws said they were very happy. Three months later after not feeling too well she went back to the hospital and her CA125 has shot up to 3000 - they are putting her on another chemo immediately. I'm really worried the cancer is to aggressive to be controlled is there any chance another chemo could have more success? Also from my understanding it can not be cured - have you any idea of life expectancy for advanced ovarian cancer sufferers?

I am really sorry about your mother.  As far as how long...no one really knows until very near the end.  I have a friend whose granddaugher lived five years past the estimated length of her life that the doctors gave the family.  Just last week, another friend died after  two years of aggressive treatment.  And some friends of mine had a friend who only lived four months after her diagnosis.  All these women were diagnosed at basically the same stage  of the disease, although I am not sure if they had the same type.
