WORRIED ABOUT PROBLEMS,OR AM I OK?

HI ,MY NAME IS LETRICE, AND I HAD A ABNORMAL PAP SMEAR. AND MY PERIODS HAVENT BEEN RIGHT AND I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF MY PERIODS FOR THE 1ST MONTH DIDNT COME ON ,THE 2 ND MONTH IT CAME ON REALLY HEAVY ,THE 3 RD MONTH IT SPOTED, AND THIS MONTH IT SPOTTED  AGIN AN I JUST WANT TO KNOW IS THIS A SIGNAL OF PREGNANCY OR A SIGNAL OF CANCER?

Hi there. Speaking from experience, if you've had an abnormal pap smear, they may indicate something going on with the cervix. I had pre-cancerous cells in mine after years of having abnormal exams and finally had to have a LEEP surgery done.  The bleeding was there when I would have intercourse.  What stage did they say you had the cervicitis?  You really should get in touch w/your doc and ask him what all this means.

Hello.  4 years ago I had an abnormal pap screen and was scheduled to have another appointment 6 weeks later, but only a week or two after the first pap I took a pregnancy test and it was possitive.  My obgyn said we would wait until after I had my baby and do a follow-up pap test.  That test came back normal.  My last son is now 3 yrs old and I have had all normal pap test since his birth. This is just my experience, but I agree with the other posts, you should talk to your doctor and find out what is going on for sure.  Good luck.

If it's been three months since your abnormal pap and you haven't had any follow-up, you really need to see a health-care practicioner as soon as possible.

I'm not trying to scare you (you might be perfectly fine), but you MUST make sure there's nothing going on that needs medical attention at this time.

Just to clarify, a pap smear checks for changes on the cervix.  It is NOT a test for ovarian cancer.  A lot of people don't realize that.

Definitely check back with your doctor!
