THe pelvic ultrasound did not hurt when I had it done. (Just not a comfortable situation.) Hope all goes well for you.
Thanks for your input, it really helped. I got the results of the CA 125 today and it was 8.8. Which is good and now for the fun part. Off for a colonoscopy and maybe some answers. Funny thing is this pain is so low in my abd (R ovary/Uterus) area that it just seems like it would be a gyno issue. Time will tell. Anyway with a normal ultrasound and CA 125 this could still be a gyno issue? Thanks again!
Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope everything is ok. I am 49 also and I just had a biopsy done of my uterus yesterday. That was pretty painful. My problem is I have been bleeding for about 14 days. I have been having irregular periods for about 2 years now but have never had one to last that long. I was just thinking it is part of perimenopause but my gyno decided , to be on the safe side, to do a biopsy. And tuesday I have to go for an ultrasound. Hopefully that is not painful. I have been having a little pain occasionally in my ovary area but nothing bad. Even though I feel like it is nothing I am waiting for results too. My problems seem mild to yours. I hope you get good news. I will say a little prayer for you.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I just got the results from the Ultra Sounds and everything was Normal. Funny this pain does not feel normal. I did request a CA 125 blood test and they are referring me to a Gasto doc. I have PPO insurance and wonder if I should just make an appt. with a GYN/ONC? Any suggestions?
Some of the symptoms you mention are indicative of OVCA but they could be other things too. A pap has nothing to do with OVCA. Go to a good GYN person and explain all of this to them. When I had my transvaginal ultrasound done they also did a CA125 and they told me both tests would take a week to complete. I got a call the next morning and was rushed to a GYNONC. If your tests have not come back yet maybe that is a good sign. Do get someone to do a CA 125 test just in case. It is not a great indicator of whether you have OVCA but it is helpful in the treatments to see if chemo is working or to check for recurrence. Waiting is hard, I am waiting on a PET from yesterday to find out where the little suckers are hiding, but put yourself in God's hands and take a proactive approach to your care. When you KNOW something is wrong in spite of what Drs. say you have to bowl over them sometimes to get stuff done. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
