Weird symptoms

Hello.
I posted before about some concerns regarding ovca, but my symptoms keep changing. I have lower back pain that comes and goes, and my some slight pains in my abdomen. My main concern is the nausea...it could be because of all this worrying I'm doing, but has anyone diagnosed with ovca presented these same problems? Also, I have no bloating or distending of the stomach but from what I've been reading these things happen at very late stage if it is ovca. I'm trying to wait for my gyno appt next Wed, but it's becoming difficult to be patient. I went to the ER and the doctor did a pelvic and said she didn't feel any masses and my ovaries felt fine...she didn't even do an ultrasound.

Please let me know thoughts as I'm worrying myself sick!

Thank you so much!!
Erin

Hi , I  would ask for a tvus . Iknow you are not imagining the cyst , if the cyst seems to be simple and functional they may watch it for a couple of menstural cycles because these cysts can sometimes dissappear on their own/ i
I myself had complex cysts that are the ones that cause more concern . Ask doc questions and definately ask for a tvus , love Angie xx

thank you so much. i have just read so many stories of people that have had all sorts of tests and told they don't have cancer, just to find out later that they do. i've had an anxiety disorder for awhile now, and i've been doing okay until this new ovarian cancer fear arose...i feel awful asking and worrying so much when people here are truly going through this...but my symptoms were not physcosomatic because i indeed have an ovarian cyst. whether or not it's benign is what's worrying me. with the ct scan saying it appears simple unilocular, probably functional, is that reliable enough?

Hi you really must calm down and take some deep breaths , I am in no way trivialising your anxiety as i,ve been there myself   i promise you . Please listen though , you are really going to have to make that appointment at the doctors as you can,t carry on this way . I think you should ask for a tvus which gives very clear images of the ovaries but will this be enough to allay your fears? .

Hi again ,  I really think you should sit down and write out all of the questions that are still worrying you and go back to the doctor . If you don,t understand the answers you must say that or else you will get ill worrying so much , it doesn,t matter if you ask a thousand times its the doctors job to make sure you are satisfied and understand  what tests you,ve had and why  you,ve not been given an ultrasound . If it was me I would ask for the ultrasound to put my mind at rest . Im sorry you are so scared  . Take care love Angie xx

thanks ladies. i don't know if you read my updated posts, but i went to the ER and they did a full body abdominal and pelvic ct scan which showed everything's normal except for a 4.1 unilocular left ovarian cyst probably functional report says. the doctor said that everything about it appeared normal and fluid-filled, etc. but i'm still worried since they didn't do an ultrasound...what are the chances this thing is actually malignant and the ct scan didn't pick it up??? please someone respond....

Sweetheart, you need to take a deep breath and relax. I agree with Angie, when you are anxious/nervous it seems as if every little symptom is magnified. OVCA is a rare disease. Keep telling yourself this. The mind is very, very powerful and I think it would be best for you to think positive until you have a reason to think otherwise. Convincing yourself you have ovca is not right and so exhausting. I will keep you in my prayers, BE POSITIVE!! With love, Deandra

Hi , I really feel so sorry that you are getting so scared  about all of this . I know first hand what its like to be terrified and so do the other women on this forum , I must let you know that when you are really anxious you notice every sensation in your body  as adrenaline is released  and it intensifies feelings and makes you feel ill . I hope you get your appointment soon and relate all your symptoms to your doctor , Im sure you will be ok but remember you and only you know your body so if you aren,t  happy get a second opinion .  Take care love Angie xx

i am so scared. i just found out that i've lost almost three pounds in the past week. i weighed at the gym last week and was 118 (but i was also on my period), and today it's 114.4. now, i have started eating a lot better (salads every day, etc) and i've also been so stressed out that i've been nauseas. i am sorry...i'm such a hypochondriac, but i've convinced myself that i have ovarian cancer.

i have lower back pain that shoot to my buttocks and thighs. indigestion and gas, and now weight loss. with some abdomibal pains here and there, but its usually relieved with gas. my periods have been a little more heavier than usual too...do i need to be really worried?

thanks....

Hi don,t be sorry about being worried , most of us can identify that feeling and its horrible. From what you say your symptoms are lessening which is good and the backache could be due to many different things and even stress believe it or not!!.  Its not too long till monday now try to stop worrying if you can and go for a nice walk at the weekend to chill out .  Take care  Angie xx

Thanks ladies...
My doctor's appointment has been moved up to Monday, thank goodness. And I'm feeling okay, a little scared of course, and the only thing I'm feeling is some a persistent lower back pain and a little bit of gas. Do you think this lower back pain is anything that could be related to ovarian cancer? All of the other symptoms have pretty much gone away, except for some gas pains :)
I have no bloating, periods are pretty regular, no urgency or frequency in urinating, BMs are fine, but just this damn lower back ache since my period. It feels like a lot of pressure there and it comes and goes....has anyone felt something like this?
I'm so worried...I'm sorry.

Try not to worry and hope for the best.  I am going through something similar right now with additional testing but, feel comfortable because my doctor is terriffic.

Make sure that you convey ALL your symptoms to the doctor.  Lynn63 is right, use a little list.

Do not be afraid of bringing up any concerns.  If for some reason, the doctor treats your symptoms too casually, or treats you impersonally--find another and get a second or third opinion, if necessary.

This turned up in an Internet search:

Accurate and current information about specific gynecologic cancers can be found on our Web site, the Women’s Cancer Network at www.wcn.org  .  This site offers a wealth of information.  It has comprehensive information about gynecologic and other women’s cancers and a special section on clinical trials, plus information for cancer survivors.

It also allows you to search for a gynecologic oncologist in your area by clicking on the “Find-a-Doctor” section.

I agree with Lynn63, but would add that you insist on a transvaginal ultrasound - my dr didn't feel any mass and my ovaries felt fine to her, too.  The ultrasound showed multiple cysts.  If yours does show cysts, remember that most of them are benign and go from there. Best wishes, Chris

First of all you need to try to stop worrying.  I know it is hard to do but that can cause you stomach problems.  Keep in mind that these symptoms can be caused by so many different things.  I had many symptoms concerning for ovca and just had my laproscopy last Friday.  As it turned out the main cause of my pain were the many adhesions that caused my ovaries/tubes/bladder/intestines to all be stuck to each other and to the abdominal wall.  Adhesions can be caused by previous surgeries and/or previous infections.  I also had cysts which the Gyn/Onc does not think were cancer, but will find out from Path in about a week.  My main pain was right pelvic/hip/lower back pain which at times went into my leg.  These pains were intermitent with me also.  I also had nausea and less serious pelvic pain on both sides as well as constipation at times and loss of appetite.

I am not saying to ignore your symptoms....just don't worry yourself sick over it.  When you go to your Gyn appointment I'm sure they will get to the bottom of the cause.  It might be helpful to write down all of the different symptoms that you are experiencing so that you don't forget them when you get to the doctor.  I find that if I don't do this I end up forgetting to mention something.

Good luck and please keep us posted with how your appointment goes.
