What is size of gynecological grapefruit?

I'm dealing with a fibroid, not a cyst, but I saw the same subject come up on this forum.  Someone said she was told she had an ovarian cyst the size of a grapefruit.  

I know the exact sizes of my fibroids, but all intelligent discussions that pertain to decision making express size in terms of weeks of pregnancy and units of fruit.  It is necessary to be able to translate.

OK, grapefruits come in alot of sizes.

What is the standard size of a gynecological grapefruit?

Knowing hte standard size of a gynecological canteloupe would also be very helpful.

yes best to ask for the exact  measurement given on the ultrasound report (in centimeters). then you can convert that to the fruit of your choice.

I love it. I suppose the doctors are trying to give us something we can relate to instead of precise measurements. For me I got precise measurements for my ovarian cyst but got the fruit example (mine's a plum) for my uterine fibroid. Yeah, what kind of plum? Funny business. If centimeters are too complex, I can always look at a ruler.
