What is the difference between a simple cyst or other kinds?

by chery, Mar 08, 2006 12:00AM
Just wondering as my husband remembered the wording "simple cyst"  on the left ovary on the ultra sound in reference to one of the things they found. I have seen where you guys talk about simple and complex and so on but I do not know the difference. Thanks!!

Hey there.  If I remember correctly, a simple cyst is just a fluid filled cyst.  Complex cysts contain other matter.  And just in case you haven't heard it before I will tell you, 99% of ovarian cysts are benign!!  Hope this helps.
