I’m asking myself this same question over and over in my headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury, “ Did I put myself in this own worrisome mess “ Let me explain a bit, back when I found out I was pregnant in Jan 06 I went to my ob/gyn which sent me for my ultrasounds up until I miscarried at 8 weeks in Feb 06. I never got a pix of the fetus so therefore I requested the films and along with the films came the report of the finding the size of the baby and such BUT it also had that there was a cyst on my left ovary that was small enough to disappear, and something about a mass on the left ovary ( last measurement 5.0 x 3.5x 3.8) So I called my ob/gyn back in March upon reading the reports to ask why is there a mass ( of course when u hear the word mass you question it right) Well she didn’t think anything of it and wasn’t to concerned BUT she said she will send me for another u/s just to make sure. So I went in early April and that’s when the radiologist wanted me to go for a MRI in which I did so. The radiologist stated it looked like a solid mass but didn’t appear to look benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo. And then continued to call my ob/gyn to ask her why she sent me and what she was looking for ( its apparent he’s not sure himself either ) and my ob/gyn stated she wasn’t the one that sent me it was the radiologist from the MRI place.
So I pick up my films from the MRI place and take them back to the original imaging center in which I had my u/s done for their radiologist to look over the films and that dr states it “ doesn’t look abnormal, the texture may look different but it doesn’t look like cancer”
Okay next day I go for my CA-125 ( a day before my period) and it comes back slightly elevated at 67.
Next week go over to see a gyno/oncologist and he is like “why are you hear” my answer was” you tell me because I’m not sure”
I’m not sure if this is a god sent that I questioned the dr about the report OR if it is something have we caught it in time.
Hi Diana and welcome! It really sucks that you have has such the run around! I am glad that the gyn/onc is doing the surgery. As Dian stated, they have the most experience in this type of thing. I will be praying for you. Please keep us posted. Kasie
I was tossed around a couple of times too and still am going through it. One thing that I did learn and am glad I asked was when i first went to the GYN he said that i had endo 95% positive. I left it at that and scheduled my surgery. After being on here i was sleepless and needed answers so i went back to the GYN. I asked him some questions and he was very defensive about the questions i was asking like "what is a complex mass, cystic mass, or and endometrioma? and he told me that I didnt need to know that. And I was like yea i do its on my us. It also stated that i should get a ct scan and other follow up work in the next couple of weeks but he refused and told me i wasnt even ready for surgery. wow!
I asked him what would have to happen to change a laproscopic surgery to laparotomy and he said that wouldnt happen because they would do what they had to do and schedule another sugery a few months later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was like hell no. I am a single mother and i cant afford that much time off work. I need the doctor to know what he is doing and take what needs to be taken. So for me that question was the most important. I would be on the RS right now.
I chose to see someone else. And sometimes i wish that I let him do it to get this over with but I am glad i never did because i could tell he had no idea what he was doing. A good doctor lets you ask as many questions as you want without being defensive. So i would asked anything and everything.
