I really thought I posted this on another forum, I feel terrible posting here, as I know most of you are dealing with so much more, and I do count myself lucky, just confused.
Hi Angie,
Like I said, last week was the first time I've actually been able to speak to specialist since the surgery. I'm fairly sure he said stage 1A germ cell OVCA, which I believe is a borderline cancer. I just can't believe through all this that the full pathology report was not forwarded to my GP. I had to ask for the pathology results myself, and thats when they realised endo was found in the fallopian tubes, and I have been on oestrogen only HRT for 5 months. They then told me that oestrogen feeds endo and can turn it cancerous, but I need progesterone to help shed the endo???????? My uterus was removed 8 yrs ago, so obviously this endo has been hanging on for a long time. My GP should finally receive all results this week, 6 months late. Now I'm on so many medications I don't know if they are helping or hindering my recovery. All I know was for 3-4 months post surgery I couldn't wake up before 10am, and even now on weekends when I don't have to get up to alarm, it is nothing for me to sleep 12 hrs plus at once. Never in my wildest dreams, could I have done that 6 months ago. The only thing I can put it all down to is surgical menopause, as I have had 5 other abdominal surgeries, and have always recovered in the usual 6-8 week time frame. Any thoughts, I just can't seem to move on from this, and I'm only 46, so I,ve got a good few years to go yet. I just can't imagine being like this forever.
Hi,
What type of Ovarian cancer did you have?. I had stage 1A Clear cell which is associated with Endometriosis, there is another type called Endometrioid which is also associated with Endometriosis.
My oncologist told me that my OVCA was Endometriosis that had turned malignant. I am not allowed to take any form of HRT as Oestrogens feed Endo and could cause it to regrow even though I have had a Hysterectomy and been through 6 rounds of chemo.
I must stay away from all food containg soy as well . Please ask your Doctor about this as this is very important and I have been told these facts from several Doctors .
I hope you feel better soon , please let me know how you get on.
Love
Angie
