I am 31 years old and have hypothyroidism. In the past it has stopped my periods when I missed my medication. This time however I am dealing with the opposite. I have been on my menstrual for a month and a half. I went to the OBGYN and had an ultrasound. He found nothing and has given me a prescription for proestrogen. I hope this helps not just stop the periods but I also have lower back pain. I have to ball up my fist and press on the lower spine just to relieve the pain. I have had tingling in my legs and hands and arms off and on for about 3 weeks. I have just disregarded it because it goes away. This morning I woke up and am having back pain, tingling, and my right leg hurts when I walk and aches constantly. I was a little sick to my stomach too. Should I seek a second opinion?
I am a bc survivor of 7 years; my mom died from it 8 yrs ago; i was just diagnosed w/ a 6 cm mass on my left ovary after an elevated ca-125. I am having a TAH in 9 days. I am scared to death this is metastic bc. I am having mild back pain, leg aches and now, just recently my arms/hand have began hurting/tingling. I am praying this mass is benign, and since it is sitting on my spine, that is causing the neuro symptoms. Shoud it be malignant, I am hoping for primary stage I. Ladies, my prayers and thoughts to all of you suffering and battling, and asking for prayers in return. My 16 y/o daughter deserves her mom to raise her; the fears abound when thinking of another battle and losing all I have worked so hard for and not enjoying the chance to enjoy this physical life. Best to you all.
I can tell you I have a complex ovarian cyst in the right ovary at 4cm and a follicular type cyst on the left ovary I have pain in my lower back/lhamstring part of my thighs as well as my abdomin. I can tell you a cyst can cause those pains because I am living proof. My only suggestion would be to ask for pain management until the cysts can be removed. I am also waiting and pending more and more tests before they remove the cysts. Which I can tell you it is agony waiting for the tests and treatments when all you want to do is feel normal and for the pain and discomfort to go away. I do believe your cyst is probably pinching a nerve. I hope the best for you and I hope the pain subsides with treatment from the doctors my prayers are with you.

I don't know if this is true for other people, but one of my DRs once told me "cancer does not hurt". All my cysts have hurt, Mom's ovarian cancer did not hurt. I also know a young woman who had similar mystifying problems that turned out chronic appendicitis. (In that case you will need an examination of the inside of your colon, which does not hurt and is easier than going to the dentist drilling ona nerve, at least for me)I also read that pregnancies are one precondtion against ovarian cancer, not for it. Wishing you the best, and even if it is what you fear so much, keep in mind that this is not a death sentence. It can go away again.
I have a dull ache in right upper leg. I am 44 yrs old. Seems to come and go. What do you thinK?
I just had terrible problems in one leg and dermoids cysts found in both ovaries after nerve, spine, and blood tests showed nothing. No evidence of whether a dermoid caused the problem (which has just as mysteriously gotten better), waiting to talk to a GYN about surgery. This thread is the closest thing I've found related to my situation. Please read my full post:

Need some help..a month ago, i slipped on ice and twisted my left side of my back. So I think. Since, i developed a bludge on my left side of my stomache.pain down into my thight with numbness in the groin area. I thought it was a hernia. Went to my dr. and sent me immediately to a surgeon. She felt it and said she did not believe it was a hernia & ordered a CT. Results were negative. Having lower back left pain and pain into the groin & down left thigh, I went to the Ortho. They ordered Xrays. Again Negative. and ordered an MRI. Took MRI & saw the Spine Dr who said it showed 2 slight herniated discs and ordered phy theraphy. I haven't started the phy theraphy yet. In the meantime I still have this buldge in my stomach area and occassionally pain in left thigh and back. (comes and goes.) now a month and a half I have an appt w/Obgyn Dr to check out my ovaries. Any help would be great.
Thank you to both of you. I will keep you posted and hope for the best. I still have no word yet on my CT from yesterday. Hope to hear by tomorrow. Glad you both are doing well. Talk soon. -kaylee
I had groin and leg pain also. I had two softball sized dermoids removed 12/21/05 along with my right ovary and 90% of my left. Since then, no groin or leg pain!!! Also the lower back pain has gone also. You will be fine, don't let your imagination run away with you (easier said than done!!) I'll keep you in my prayers.

I definitely have groin/and left thigh pain from a cyst on my left ovary. Someone here informed us that it could be that the cyst is pressing on the nerve. I get shocks every now and then that go down my left leg. At my preop appt yesterday, my doctor confirmed that the groin pain is from the cyst hitting a nerve.
Good luck. I hope you find some answers soon!
