There are many many women that have happy heathly children with only one ovary. You will still ovulate every month, the ovary will take over for the missing one.
Hi, Yes I've also heard (from my doctor) that when one ovary is removed, the other takes over for the missing one, and I was told it shouldn't affect fertility. I was lucky enough only to have part of my R ovary and fallopian tube removed, but in the beginning was told the the whole ovary would have to come out. Hope this helps :)

dancingshoes,
From what I've read and been told (including from women on this board), losing one ovary does not affect your ability to have children. Apparently, the remaining ovary kicks in double time and picks up the slack for the other one.
