Hi - i also can't relate to menopause, but can very much relate to Zoloft - it is a wonderful anti-anxiety/depressent med.  I was on it for about ten years and only recently changed to something else b/c of the sexual sid-effects (or lack thereof) from Zoloft.  That was the only side effect I had but has been growingly important enough for me and my husband for me to change.  If that is not an issue, I would first-hand prescirbe it as well.  It does take up to six weeks for complete effect though.  Best...

Thanks so much.  I copied and pasted your answer on the Menopause site for Hazel.  That section is so quiet!  Everyone hangs out HERE!
Hopefully Hazel will see it....
Cheers

For what it's worth--I'm not in menopause (yet), but have been on Zoloft for almost 9 years, dose ranging from 50-200mg/day. For me, it has been excellent as both and anti-depressant and anti-anxiety. The only side-effect I've ever noticed is slight hand tremors very early on. That symptom disappeared roughly 6 months into my starting its usage.

The psychiatrist who first prescribed it said he'd noticed that women seem to do especially well on Zoloft, and my OB/Gyn has said that Zoloft is usually her first choice when prescribing an anti-depressant to her patients.

Hope this helps.
