about immature teratoma

is it posible to cure a grade 1 immature teratoma? what medicine or process can be use?

What I read said immature teratomas are slow growing and unlikely to spread.  I read there are three drugs used in chemo and they are bleomycin, etoposide and cisplatin and they are given every three weeks....sounds like you were lucky and caught it early!  Hang in there kid and stay in touch!

Hi, my 15 yr. old daughter was dx with stage 3 grade 3 immature teratoma in Dec. 06.  She had surgery to remove her ovary and was put on 4 months of BEP chemotherapy.  She had chemo three straight days followed by 2 weeks rest in between.  She finished chemo in April 07.  Since then she has been disease free, has had her chest port removed, and will be scanned again in Dec. 07.  She receives u/s and cat scans every three months.  Low grade low stage immature teratoma may not even warrent chemotherapy treatment.  Because the cancer is usually contained in the affected ovary and for fertility preservation, low grade and stage immature teratoma can be removed and a "wait and see" approach can be used.  Then if the cancer comes back they will treat it with chemo.  Many with low stage and grade beat this with surgery alone.  Unfortunately for my daughter, her cancer had spread and chemo was required.  Even with a dx of stage 3 and grade 3, my daughter continues to do very well.  It was a blessing they caught your cancer at low stage and grade.  At these low stages and grades, immature teratoma is very treatable and beatable.  Hope this helps.
