adenomyosis and cysts

Hi there I came across this site looking answers/advice diagnosed with suspected adenomyosis. Just the month previous to this discovered I had a large (over 5cm) cyst on my left ovary. Having constant symptoms for both so least I know I'm not going mad after years of it. This site has helped me alot thanks! wondered if anyone can tell me if a novasure endo oblation can affect in anyway ovarian cysts? I am due back for scan in a wk for my cyst but with vomiting/pain still i suspect it hasn't disappeared. If anyone has any advice or answers please do let me know X

You should see your doctor about the problems defecating. Your description sounds like it could be a rectocele (rectal prolapse). Rectocele is caused by a weakening of the pelvic floor. There are surgeons who will operate for this but I have read that the failure rate is pretty high. Pelvic floor physical therapy can be effective. Of course, this may not even be what you have. It could be something as "mild" as constipation.

I don't know that sounds like a question for your doctor. They need to know you are having trouble defecating.

Please can anyone answer?
I have noticed recently I have problems defacating and that I seem to need to press inside my vagina to go properly.I can almost feel a hole inside which seems to be on the other side of my rectum wall of muscle. Is this something that is fixable?

If you are having vomiting and pain you need to push for answers. The main thing is to have a doctor you trust. I said to the doctor "I don't know what is wrong but something is very wrong with me". You will get as many view points as people on the internet. I have had both the Novasure Ablation and hysterectomy and feel both were the right decisions at the time with a Doctor I trusted. Do I think all women should have these procedures? No I think it is an individual decision depending on your circumstances. All I can offer is support and advise for the experiences I have gone through.

I don't know what effects Novasure (or any other type of endometrial ablation) can have on ovarian cysts. But ablation is associated with long-term problems especially when done on women under age 46. I recall a woman saying that a doctor at a top-notch hospital told her that ablation should not be done on women under age 50 because of the long-term problems.

The ovaries, uterus and tubes work as a unit. The ovaries produce hormones telling the uterine lining when to build and when to shed (have a period). Ablation scars the lining but the ovaries continue to tell it to build. This causes blood to become trapped behind the scarring which can cause debilitating pelvic pain. If some of the lining is not scarred, some of the blood may be able to escape. But the cervix can also become stenotic from the procedure, another cause of trapped blood / engorgement hence pelvic pain. The complications do not tend to happen in the short-term but instead a couple or few years down the road. You can research post ablation syndrome.
