adnexal fibroid

50 years old and postmenepausal for 21/2 years.  I have no symtoms (symptoms) but was diagnosed to have a fibroid at 1.9 and ovary at 5.4, with 5.0 being not to worry.  So im scheduled to have a biopsy, but don't know what to make of any of this.  Help...

A biopsy of what - the ovary? Typically they'd just remove the ovary.  I've had fibroids for over 10 years -- they're asymptomatic so we just left them.  They shrunk to about half their size after menopause.  I now have a cyst on one ovary, but haven't had any surgery because the doctor said it shows fluid filled from ultrasound and repeated ultrasounds have shown it's not growing.  Having another US next week and will then have to decide whether or not to have surgery -- which would be removal of both ovaries since I'm 57.
