advance stage of ovarian cancer

what is the advanced stage in ovarian cancer... if there is tumour near kidney and on liver. does it means advanced stage

The highest stage is stage IV, and if cancer has spread to the liver, then yes, it is stage IV.

for my mom, as per the mri report the tumour is on the upper/mid lope ... s tat stage 4..
have u ever been given this chemotheraphy drug(carboplatin and nanopalciteral)

I was actually incorrect in my first post.  I found that if the cancer has spread to the liver, it may still be considered stage III because of the liver's location.  Stage IV is when the cancer has spread to distant organs.  Some doctors may still choose to classify it as stage IV if it has spread to the liver, however.

I had two cycles of Carboplatin and Paclitaxel (we call it Taxol in the United States).  The first was my initial treatment after diagnosis when I had six cycles of it.  The second time was when my cancer recurred.  I had to stop during the second cycle though because I had an allergic reaction to Carboplatin.  However, the combination of those chemotherapies is the standard "first-line" treatment because it has been shown to work well for most women. I am sending you many good wishes that it will also work well for your mom.

thanks for ur reply.. My mom s gonna have her chemo from tomorrow(abraxane+carboplatin).. Bcoz our Dr said it has minimal side effects but with the same effectiveness on the tumors as carboplatin+paclitaxel..
