after surgery question

Hi Dr.
I am now 4 days out of surgery for a 10cm+ mass. It was amazing they took it from 6 incisions robotically (DeVinci robot) I am starting to feel better.. the mass they said was initially beign but would know more in a week.. they took both of my ovaries due to there were more masses (small) on the other ovary..I was pretty well out of it when they told me that it was probably something called a fibroma ?? from what I read that is a solid mass but this one wasnt ... do I need to worry abt this coming back?? I havent gotten the follow up information yet ... I didnt see the dr after the surgery which was a bit disconcerning..and no contact from there office yet either.. is there any chance that the pathology report will come back as malignant?? I have read that there is a fibroma that is cancerous... thanks ... and to all of you that are nervous abt your surgery ... it really isnt all that bad ... you will feel pretty sore at first but it starts to go away at abt 3 days just do as little as possible and rest ... your body has gone thru an ordeal and you need to let yourself have time to heal...

Fibromas are benign and it is rare for them to have malgnant change. But there will be a final report in about 7 to 10 days after surgery.

It is wierd not to see your doctor. I understand from the other side. Sometimes when someone is only in the hospital overnight or over a weekend, the actual surgeon may not make it to the floor to visit before the person is discharged.

You should call the office to make an apointment for a postop check and also talk to the nurse about your sympotms and questions
